This past Thursday, October 11th, was Pinktoberfest, the Young Emerging Professionals 3rd annual Pink Night.

The event was held as part of the Valley Goes Pink campaign to raise donations for the Cancer Center at Griffin Hospital.

During the event, which was held at Molto Bene Italian American Kitchen at John J Sullivans, attendees enjoyed free beer, wine, and liquor tastings, appetizers, and music by High Energy DJ.

One of the many highlights of the evening were the sunglasses that one of the sponsors, First Niagara, gave away. With black frames and hot pink arms, they were fun and eye catching, not to mention great in photos.

About fifteen items were raffled off, all donated by local businesses. Attendees purchased raffle tickets at $10 for an arms length. There was also a 50/50 raffle and a door prize.

Around 6:45pm, there were a series of speakers, who each said a few words. Speakers included:

Tom Steeves, Immediate Past Chair of YEP
Chris Hill, current Chair of YEP
Bill Purcell, President of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce
Pat Tarasovic & Susan Coyle, Event Co-Chairs of Valley Goes Pink

All of the raffle items, the 50/50 raffle, and the door prize winners were announced around 7:45 to 8:00.

As the night drew to a close, it was clear that the night had been a success. Pink Night gets better with each passing year. This was the first year the event was held at Molto Bene, but it will not be the last.
