How Bad Are Connecticut Drivers?

Shockingly, motorists in CT are ranked seventh-best in the nation, according to a new report. How can this be?

This may come as a shock to most motorists here in the Connecticut, especially if you've seen behavior like this and this: Drivers here are seventh-best in the nation.

That's right.

Pulling information from sources such as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the National Motorists Association, a new report from CarInsuranceComparison.com weighs the following factors to come up with one overall score for each of the 50 states plus Washington, DC:

  • Fatalities Rate per 100 Million Vehicle Miles Traveled
  • Failure to Obey (Traffic Signals + Seat Belts)
  • Drunk Driving
  • Tickets
  • Careless Driving
Surprisingly, Connecticut comes in at Number 7, behind only Vermont, Utah, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Oregon and Maine.

The worst? Louisiana.
