Woodbury Loves Newtown: Hundreds Attend Candlelit Vigil

Six hundred ribbons in memory of the lives lost in the Sandy Hook School shooting were made and nearly all were distributed during the December 23 vigil at Hollow Park in Woodbury.

A Sandy Hook School memorial on the grounds of Hollow Park featured green ribbons and the following sentiment: "Woodbury loves Newtown."

A quote from Washington Irving read:

"There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love."
