Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Shelton, Fairfield County

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Fairfield County.

A winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service for areas including Shelton remains in effect from 1 p.m. today until 6 a.m. tomorrow.

A wintry mix is expected with snow and sleet midday, becoming freezing rain and drizzle by nighttime, lasting until Tuesday morning. Snowfall accumulation of up to an inch can be anticipated, with temperatures in the lowers 30s.

Snow in the early day may make for slippery road conditions, so be careful on your morning commute! Any ice accumulation by this evening on top of the snow will make for dangerous conditions.

"With temperatures hovering near freezing tonight, expect any ice to remain until daybreak Tuesday morning," the advisory reads.

Additionally, a hazardous weather outlook has been issued for Shelton: "A strong cold front will approach the area on Wednesday and move through by early Thursday morning. There is a chance of strong and potentially damaging winds Wednesday night ahead of the front."

Why is it the panel for this event does not include a single advocate for gun-owners' rights? WithRead More all due respect to Chief McNamara, why does the panel no include a person who can speak to gun safety from a gun-owning civilian's perspective? ML, you claim that the assembled folks "do not offer judgements about gun ownership" but they are not including a single voice that can offer perspective on gun ownership. I have been to "education" sessions sponsored by Meg's March for Change and they are one-sided indoctrinations into gun control advocacy. >>>> I was in Hartford for the public hearings in January when both Meg and March co-founder Nancy gave their personal testimonies and they all but threatened the legislators on the panel with election day retribution for all those who did not tow the gun-control line of thinking (i.e. March and CAGV). To suggest that Meg "does not offer judgements" is fallacious and disingenuous.
