Resident Files $524 Claim for Damage from Pothole
The pothole, on Birdseye Road, reportedly popped two tires and bent one rim.
The owner of a 2010 Audi wants the City of Shelton to pay for two tires that were reportedly popped by the infamous pothole on Birdseye Road.
In a claim noticed filed at the City Clerk's office on Feb. 26, Aimee Zalesky, of Big Horn Road, outlined how the pothole caused damage to the car — complete with photos and a bill for repairs.
Zalesky claims the pothole on Birdseye Road cut the right front and right rear tires and bent one of the rims. The damage cost $523.70 to fix, the claim notice states.

There was no police report included as they were not called for the incident, according to the claim.

Residents had plenty to say about potholes — where they are and which ones are the worst — in an article Shelton Patch published on Feb. 28. That was 10 days after Zalesky hit the pothole, at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 18, according to the claim.
