Shelton-based Lifecare to Add About 200 New Jobs

The Shelton-based company reportedly plans to add as many as 200 jobs over three years, using a $1.8 million loan from the Department of Economic and Community Development.

Although ,   and have in recent months announced major workforce reductions at their Shelton locations, resulting in a total loss of more than 400 jobs, Governor Dannel P. Malloy said in a recent statement that the planned expansion of Shelton-based health care solutions provider will significantly strengthen the local economy.

The company, which offers solutions to help employers reduce absenteeism and improve employee satisfaction, reportedly plans to add as many as 200 jobs over three years, using a $1.8 million loan from the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), according to a press release.

Lifecare also offers a service that matches its members with cost-effective solutions in the areas of child and adult care, legal and financial services, education and career services, according to the release.

In addition to adding about 200 new positions, Lifecare's $3.7 million growth plan also calls for significant upgrades in the company’s infrastructure, as it migrates to a multi-channel customer service platform. Currently the company has 167 employees, according to the release.
