We are so pleased to have hosted nearly 100 residents who asked informed questions about Connecticut’s budget, the state of our economy and the issues affecting our community.

The message from this meeting was clear: the costs of living and working in Connecticut are too high for families, the taxes too burdensome for businesses, and the growth of government too costly to maintain. Residents spoke specifically about the rising costs of gasoline, electric rates and their fears of heavier taxation.

Municipal leaders addressed the costs associated with education mandates and their doubts about receiving state aid for local budgeting. Our plan is to take these concerns back to Hartford, fight for policies that make government more efficient and create new jobs, while opposing new taxes and bettering the quality of life for every family and business in our state.

It is the opinions and concerns of constituents that help shape our government and we were pleased that many of the attendees were eager for us to hold another meeting soon. We plan to do just that so that we can hear more from you and all residents.

As always, if you have questions about any issue affecting state government, please contact our offices:
