As a result of last night's wind storm, United Illuminating Co. reports that 498 Shelton customers (2.84 percent) are still without power.
On our Facebook page, Shelton residents are reporting various sections of town with and without power.
"Okenuck Way off of Longfellow and Little Fox. No power. East Village is a mess," said Nick Demko.
Cathy Damato Pereira also reported that a tree is down on the wires on Isinglass, causing a blackout.
The National Weather Service reports that a wind advisory still in effect for Shelton and northern Fairfield County until 6 p.m. tonight. West winds of 20 to 30 mpg with gusts as strong as 50 mph can be expected.
