A women's shop with a European connection has opened in the Brick Walk shopping complex.
Chic Jolie, which relocated from Westport, opened a few months ago and caters to women who like one-of-a-kind clothing from European designers, according to its owner, Alla Ionescu, of Fairfield.
"I go to Europe every few months and work directly with showrooms and designers to get the best possible price point," she said. "My shop is for people who like to shop in a boutique instead of a mall."

Her store carries 16 brands of European women's clothing which are not available in the U.S, she said.
Ionescu operated another shop, Jacadi, in Westport for eight years, and she later opened a second location in Greenwich. Both carried a line of French children's clothing. With the expiration of the franchise she had with Jacadi, she decided to open her own business in Fairfield, this time with a focus on European women's apparel.

She likes her Fairfield location, she said, with long-time customers coming from Westport, Darien, Greenwich, Wilton and other towns. And now her shop also draws customers not only from Fairfield, but also from points farther north, such as Milford and Shelton.
Ionescu said she and her staff enjoy giving customers personal attention to help them choose clothing that is beautiful, well-made and unique.
Chic Jolie is at 1215 Post Road in the Brick Walk, and is open from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5:30 p.m. Sundays.
