Summer Lifeguard Jobs Available at Local State Park

The state is looking for lifeguards at several parks, including at Indian Well State Park in Shelton.

Need a job this summer? The state is hiring lifeguards and the pay is $9.60-$13 per hour.    

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) encourages anyone interested in working as a lifeguard this summer to apply for a position at Connecticut’s State Parks. Jobs are open at seven parks.

Positions are available at the following locations: 

  • Black Rock State Park – Watertown
  • Indian Well State Park – Shelton
  • Mt. Tom – Litchfield
  • Silver Sands State Park – Milford
  • Sherwood Island State Park – Westport
  • Wadsworth Falls State Park – Middletown
  • Wharton Brook State Park – Wallingford

Dates of employment are from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  The normal workweek is 40 hours including weekends and holidays.   

The salary range is $9.60 - $13 per hour depending upon years of experience and qualifications.
