Stop Work Order Issued For Shelton Condo Roofing Project

The stop work order was issued on Tuesday after it was discovered that JC Roofing hadn't been carrying workers' compensation insurance for its employees and had been misclassifying workers as independent contractors, according to a CT Post report.

The state Department of Labor has reportedly issued a stop work order against JC Roofing, also known as JC Silva Remodeling LLC, which has been working to replace the roofs at the Sunwood Condominiums in .

According to the report, OSHA inspectors had been keeping close tabs on work at the site since Amaral's death. Recently inspectors were called to the site by someone who had seen roofers there working without proper safety restraints, according to the report.
