Wrestling, Soap Opera Star, to Attend Women's Expo

Galen Gering, who plays "Rafe Hernandez” on “Days of Our Lives,” will be featured at this weekend’s St. Vincent’s Southern Connecticut Women’s Expo at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport.

About 250 exhibits will be shown at the Sept. 21 and 22 event, which 3,000 to 4,000 people are expected to attend. The fair includes free health screenings, lectures, shopping, fitness, fashion, makeovers and more.

Gering will be meeting fans and signing autographs on both Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.  WWE Diva Natalya will also be signing personalized photos on Sunday only from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Some of the other attractions in the arena next weekend will include beauty makeovers, live demonstrations, prize giveaways, pet adoption and psychic readings.  There will be plenty of food on hand with free samples, recipes and nutrition advice.

Take advantage of free health screenings by St. Vincent’s Medical Center at the Expo, including cardiac/stroke risk assessment, body fat analysis, cholesterol and glucose screenings, pulmonary function, facial skin analysis and free mammography screenings in St. Vincent’s Mobile Wellness Coach.  St. Vincent’s physicians will also be on hand presenting free lectures covering a number of topics from pregnancy and childbirth, genetics testing and weight loss surgery to managing headaches and thyroid disease.

Show hours for the Women’s Expo are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both on Saturday and Sunday. The cost of regular admission is $10. Kids 12 and under are free, as is the parking.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to St. Vincent’s SWIM Across the Sound.
