The Benefits of Silence, Simplicity, and Solitude

“Crazy” seems to be the word most people use when responding to “How are you doing?”  Is this your typical response?  There is a saner way to go through life.

Janis Daddona, who holds a master degree in counseling, will present a three-part program, Silence, Simplicity, and Solitude to address this very solution.  “Neuroscientists are now saying that the very craziness we feel is due to using our brains beyond what they were intended for.  Multitasking creates an experience similar to being on cocaine.  Without time off devices, without being more present for people, without being more open to what stillness has to offer; we compromise our immune system, mental health, productivity, relationships, and our own humanity.”

This program of facilitated conversations and exercises explores the benefits of silence not only to help your brain function better but to provide the way to tap into your true self.  Through simplicity you learn how less is more and discover what you value most in life.  In solitude you can reconnect with yourself in such a way that your relationships are more satisfying.
