Senator Kevin Kelly Invites Public to Panel Discussion on Affordable Care Act

Wed, October 9th, 2013 – 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart University

Hartford, CT – State Senator Kevin C. Kelly (R-21) invites individuals, senior citizens and small business owners to attend a panel discussion on the Federal Affordable Care Act & CT Healthcare Exchange. Senator Kelly will be a panelist in the forum convening on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 8:00am-9:30am at Sacred Heart University’s William Pitt Center Board Room, 2nd Floor, 5151 Park Avenue, Fairfield, CT. The panel discussion is intended to help the public understand how the newly implemented health insurance regulations will impact them and their businesses.

“It is extremely important to understand what these new healthcare programs mean for each citizen here in Connecticut. There will be an impact on everyone from the self-insured to senior citizens to small businesses. Our comprehensive group will work to address issues and answer questions about care and coverage for everyone,”said Senator Kelly.

The panel discussion will be moderated by State Representative Tony Hwang (R-134 Fairfield and Trumbull), a member of the legislature’s Insurance and Real Estate committee. The forum will include expert panelists who will explain and answer questions about the implementation of the new Healthcare Exchange which went into effect on October 1. Panelists include:

In a statement from Representative Hwang, he explained, “As I talk to people in the district, I am continually getting questions about how healthcare insurance changes are impacting their lives and wonder how the new federal law will affect their quality and access to care. My commitment in convening this panel is to help answer many of the questions my constituents and our broader community have about healthcare insurance.”
