What Is Kundalini Yoga?


Kundalini is known as the yoga of awareness and the mother of all yogas. It's the whole pie, not just one of the 22 pieces like other yoga systems. Kundalini combines postures (asana), breath work, (pranayama), and chanting (mantra). It accelerates the energy of the body / mind to create an elevated state which causes deep relaxation with clarity and alertness.

  1. Mondays starting June 10th - 6 pm @ the Shelton Riverwalk.
  2. Tuesdays starting June 11th - Sadhana 5 am @ the Shelton Riverwalk
  3. Thursdays starting June 13th - 6 pm @ the Shelton Riverwalk

Classes are rain or shine!


Suggested Donation of $10 per public gathering.

If you cannot afford a donation, please make some type of contribution. A crystal, $1 bill, loose change, fruit, vegetables, etc. This is simply for the sake of exchange.

Any perishable goods will be donated to Spooner House a local safehouse for families in need.

What Do I bring?

  • Wear loose or exercise clothing. (white or light colored cotton preferred) Bring a yoga mat, & or pillows to sit on.
  • A blanket if you want to cover yourself during deep relaxation.
  • White / light head covering recommended. (beanies, scarfs, turbans, bandana, etc)
  • Bottle of water

How is this better than good old cardio and strength training?


These ancient kriyas (which were secretly passed from Master to student for thousands of years) actually work potently and rapidly to improve the cardiovascular system, the electromagnetic field (brainwaves), the glandular (endocrine) system and the nervous system. The different kriyas are designed to isolate and work on a group of muscles, organs or glands to purify and detoxify them, improving the overall function of the entire system. In many ways it works more potently than traditional, familiar fitness programs because it is a science of the human being, rather than just the physical body. By clearing the physical body of its toxins, the mind is able to relax in meditation and the soul body becomes more present , giving you greater intuition, awareness, mental clarity and balance.
