This Election Day, elect to support local Girl Scouts and get a tasty treat! Girl Scouts of Connecticut will be selling cookies at a variety of locations starting on Election Day, November 8 and running through Sunday, November 13.
More than 400 cookie booths located throughout the state at schools, grocery stores, and other businesses will allow cookie lovers to stock up on their favorite treats for a limited time before the holiday season.
Shelton cookie booth locations are:
- Elizabeth Shelton School (Nov. 8: 1-3 pm)
- Huntington Community Center (Nov. 8: 8 am - noon and 4 - 8 pm)
- Mohegan School (Nov. 8: 8-10 am)
- Walgreens (Nov. 8: 4-6 pm); (Nov. 11: 3-6 pm); (Nov. 12: 10 am - 2 pm); (Nov. 13: Noon - 5 p.m)
Additionally, many of the booths will offer customers the opportunity to purchase cookies to be sent to service women and men around the world as part of Girl Scouts of Connecticut's Cookies for Heroes program. What a great way to celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday on November 10 and Veterans Day on November 11!
Girl Scout cookie favorites Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Trefoils, Dulce De Leche, and Thank U Berry Munch will be available. A new flavor is being introduced this year called Savannah Smiles, bite-sized lemon-wedge cookies dusted in powdered sugar and bursting with zesty lemon flavor. These cookies celebrate the birthplace of Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low, and are being introduced as a part of the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts.
A hands-on leadership and financial literacy program, the Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches girls the importance of goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics. This program is part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, which helps girls discover new things about themselves and others, connect with new friends and learn about other cultures and places, and to take action by finding ways to make their community or the world a better place.
