Missing New Canaan Man Found [Update]

The 22-year-old who suffers from autism was last seen near Vitti St.

New Canaan police say that Robert O. Brown, who was reported missing Monday afternoon, has been located. Brown voluntarily entered a hospital in Westchester, seeking assistance, police said.

"He is safe and unharmed," according to a press release from Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.

New Canaan police are looking for a 22-year-old New Canaan man who has been missing since Monday, Sept. 12. Robert O. Brown is a white male, 6 feet tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has a shaved head and wears glasses. Police said Brown has autism and “has not taken his medication."

Brown was last seen in the vicinity of Vitti St. in the center of New Canaan. He was wearing a tee shirt of unknown color, and a pair of khaki shorts with sneakers, according to a police report sent to Patch and other media outlets.

“Robert has been known to use the Metro-North railroad as a mode of transportation and frequents New Haven and New York City,” according to the report.
