Happy Trails on Shelton Trails Day [Photos]

The Shelton Trails Committee and Conservation Commission took over 40 people on a guided hike of the Shelton Lakes Recreation Path.

The mayor was on hand to read a proclamation officially declaring the day to be Shelton Trails Day. Credit Beren Jones
In past years there has been as many as 80 people on the trail with the commission, though according to Commissioner Tom Harbinson, there was one year with only one resident on hand to hear the mayor's proclamation. Credit Beren Jones
The official count this year was 41 hikers. Credit Beren Jones
And a good number of man's best friend were out enjoying the trail as well. Credit Beren Jones
There were many stops along the way where the commissioners explained sections of the trail and allowed the group to regroup, get water, and car-pool out anyone who didn't want to continue. Credit Beren Jones
