H3 Pet Supply Closing Shelton Store

Cynthia Socha and Lisa Gay, owners of H3 Pet Supply in Shelton, posted the following message on their Facebook page:

Hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year celebration. We would like to take this opportunity to tell you about some changes that will be happening at H3 Pet Supply this new year. Our lease at our store on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton is expiring on January 31, 2013. We were unable to reach an agreeable lease renewal with our landlord so we will be consolidating our Shelton location into our Hawley Lane location in Stratford.

We expect to be closing the Shelton store around January 15th. While there is some sadness with this, we are also very excited about refocusing our efforts on better serving your needs by not having the stress of trying to maintain two locations.

The Stratford store is more than twice the size of the Bridgeport Avenue store and carries products for all types of animals (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), not just dogs and cats. We have expanded hours at the Stratford store which is only a few minutes (about 7 miles) from the Shelton store, off of exit 8 on Route 8 (in the Big Y plaza, across from the Trumbull Marriott). Hawley Lane is also very convenient to the Merritt Parkway and I95. All gift cards and frequent buyer plans will be honored at the Stratford store.

We realize that this will be an inconvenience to many of you and for this we are deeply sorry. Unfortunately we are just a small business to a landlord who owns many buildings and businesses thus he did not have an incentive to try to reach a mutually agreeable renewal. We have been blessed and humbled by your support over these last 5 years and hope to see you all at our Stratford store.
